It is about a technology rich concept with nearly limitless capabilities, aiming to revolutionize the way car manufacturers and dealerships sell cars, position their brands, and do business.

Dealer 4.0 supports the customer journey from dealer and OEM Websites and social media through to physical retail locations frequented by consumers. This starts at the “attract” stage, in which consumers are drawn in to a boutique showroom situated at, for example, a shopping mall, before enabling the “discover” and “decide” phases, where consumers engage through state-of-art digital and non-digital tools and excellent consultation. The journey ends with the ‘transaction’ phase where prospective customers receive a quote for the car of their interest and discuss next steps with the sales consultant – from having a test drive to signing the deal.

Dealer 4.0 brings together immersive customer experiences such as a Glass Wall Configurator with powerful analytics and lead management tools that help sales associates engage their customers with more personalized offers, providing better customer service and ultimately increasing sales. Customers use a touch screen powered by Windows 10 to visualize configuration options such as colors and trims. In-store tracking analytics enabled through Microsoft Kinect and Windows 10 provide insight into customer interest areas and dwell times, and sales associates stay connected on the move with Windows 10 tablets. In addition, DEALER 4.0 can tap into telematics data held in the Cloud to determine a consumer’s driving style, providing the capability to offer more personalized services such as customized insurance quotes.
